There's just something about...
narrow streets
white stone buildings

cobblestone paths

& flowers on the sides of buildings
...that I just adore, :)

» summerween

= Halloween + summer
(c) Laurier and MLSB :)
- - -
It is literally a day in the summer where we pretend it is Halloween and we all dress up and have typical MLSB shenanigans.
Which included, a kegger (obv) and then Wilfs afterwards (best)
- - -
This was my costume:
A 'tall' Starbucks Cup
(I reallyyyy hope everyone understands that lolol)

Everyyyyone, and literally everyone, that commented on my costume said: "wow Karen, this is soo you" haha everyone knows I'm addicted. Is that a good or bad thing? MEH :)

Here are some pictures from the rest of the night.
I didn't take many because I just kept running around like a...cup? Lol but it was a typical fun MLSB night :)

» summer time = salad time

My favorite go-to salad :)
- - -
Last week was one of the busiest weeks of the semester so far, with 3 exams and an assignment (plus some personal events as well).
I rarely had time to cook food at home, let alone go out and buy food!
So I opted for something super easy and less time consuming: salads.

I tried a lot of combinations of foods, but this one is my fave.
The ingredients are just tootoo simple!
I have no excuse to not make this salad, even if I'm feeling lazy.

All you need is:
as much lettuce/spinach/spring medley you'd like
a handful (or more) of corn
half a cucumber for the salad (and the other half to eat while making the salad)
half an avocado
raw mushrooms (lots, if you're a mushroom lover like me)
a pinch of pepper
some TLC (tender love and care)
& a drizzle of balsamic vinegar
Ta-da :)

Happy Wednesday y'all!

» STOCK @ The Trump International Hotel and Tower

- - -
Located in the heart of the financial district, it is hard to miss this gorgeous tower that opened recently last year in 2012. Since I worked so close to it, STOCK made my list of 'Places to eat before I leave Toronto' and I did just that.
Gorgeous wall design.
Take it all in.
Started off with some cocktails - super duper strong cocktails, might I mention.
- - -
And onto our mail meal...
veal osso buca & potato gnocchi
maple broiled black cod
Happy :)
The food was absolutely amazing.
My friend loved her dish and said that it was really flavorful, while my black cod?! Impeccable.
I wouldn't say it's the best black cod I've ever had but it was pretty damn close.
- - -
For dessert, we had to get chocolate from...
The STOCK Chocolate Cart.
It had so many different choices of chocolate that was made in-house.
We opted for trying 3 truffles each.
I don't remember which were which but they were all utterly delicious.
If you come here, you mustmustmust try something from the cart.

Stock Restaurant on Urbanspoon
Overall, I was really impressed.
The service, the ambiance, the food, the food presentation, the alcohol.. Everything was just amazing.
But what can you expect? STOCK is in the Trump Towers :)
Cheers, xo
