Post SOA Shenanigans

There's only one sane thing to do to celebrate being done SOA: drink.

But first, my coworkers and I headed out to Ripley's Aquarium.
I've been waiting to visit the aquarium ever since I heard about it opening but haven't had a chance to go (for reasons that I won't tell...). So yay! Although it was rather small, I still enjoyed spending time in one of my favorite types of 'buildings'.

Afterwards, as we waited for the Jays game to start, we went for drinks and food at Arriba in the Renaissance Hotel.
They have an amazing view of the game, for free! Well if you get food as well.

After the game, we went out to Gretzky's to grab a couple more drinks and appetizers.

These people... They know how to eat and drink.
Aka why I love em :) Cheers!

*disclaimer: this post has been edited as I was under above mentioned substances while posting this :)*

Khao San Road

The first time I heard about this restaurant in Toronto was actually when I was in Bangkok, Thailand. I remember going on Foursquare and seeing my friend check-in at this Khao San Road restaurant in Toronto. And at that exact time, I was actually walking along Khao San Road in Bangkok... It was a 'woah' moment.

Anyways LOL I finally found time to wait an hour in line to try KSR out!

V and I both ordered identical meals (typical).

Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea

Verdict: It was goooood. I wouldn't go that far to say it's the best pad thai ever but it was delicious. I wish the portions were larger :( or maybe I'm just a fatty (most likely the latter).

On a side note, I'm heading back to Thailand in less than week! YAY!

My Snapchat Tan

My Snapchat camera made me look so tan (slash orange slash not pale...) the other day, that I had to capture it.

If only. I'm actually really pale in real life haha.

Dessert Kitchen

I've been hearing a lot of about this new dessert place in Markham for a while (aka basically just seeing a lot of photos of those lil eggs) so I was excited to try this place out.

It was super packed (given that it was a Saturday night), but it didn't take too long to get a spot.

What we ordered:
Seaweed fries, mango desserts, and those cute eggs.

Verdict: It was alright. I've definitely had better but I liked it enough to come back again!

Le Neuf Café

On a lovely Saturday morning, V and I headed out for a brunch at Le Neuf Café :)

And we didn't just come here because it's Paris-themed... Or did we?

They had a cute patio out front overlooking Clarence Park, but since we were also heading to the Jays game that day, we decided to eat inside.

I was really glad we did because it was the cutest little setting! I absolutelyyyy loved hearing everyone speaking French inside. According to V, they were speaking France-French, as opposed to Quebec-French which was a plus.

To start, I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte. Since it was around 12:30pm and I still haven't had my first drop of coffee... It was very refreshing to say the least (haha I have serious issues).

Anyways, I ordered the Norwegian Eggs Benedict, which consisted of brioche topped with smoked salmon, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce.

I am normally not a fan of eggs but for some reason, if it's during brunch time... I like them. *shrugs*

V ordered the Méditerranéenne Savoury Crepe that was stuffed with prosciutto, fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese.

Yums!

Smash Kitchen + Bar

Although I ate dinner twice today, I still decided to come out for some food, drinks and dessert with these lovely ladies. How could I say no to good company and food, and alcohol, and desserts? Easy - I couldn't.

To start, we ordered Sliders, which were mini smash burgers and cheese, with onion chips and smash sauce on the side.

Absolutely delicious! One of the best sliders I've ever tasted. It was comparable to the ones I had when I went to Julian Serrano in Vegas.

S ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken because our server recommended it. It was such a good choice. It was a seasoned boneless breast, served with smashed potatoes & chipotle lime roasted corn.

K ordered the Neptune Pizza which was made with herb garlic butter and mozzarella, topped with tiger shrimp, smoked salmon, red onions, capers, arugula, and balsamic dressing.

To drink, we ordered a pitcher of Sangria.

Cheers! Xo

Blessed, Lucky, & Proud

I came across this quote on Tumblr the other day and absolutely love it.

Be with someone who is proud of you.
Do you know how satisfying it is to have somebody who
actually realizes how good they have it when they have you?

But then again... There's this that also holds true.

Happy Hump Day! Xo
