WVRST

What kind of sausage would you like to have today?
I've heard WVRST has a pretty nice selection ;)

Located on the 2nd level of a complex on King Street West, WVRST is the home of a artisan German sausage joint and beer hall. Besides having an amazing beer selection, there is also a lot of different meats to choose from. It is a self-served style restaurant, where you enter and sit down at one of the communal tables.

Very pretty lights up top - me like :)

You look at the menu that is either given to you at the front when you enter or you can find it on the table. WVRST has a pretty distinctive menu that mainly focuses on sausages, fries, and their dipping sauces. They also have vegan and gluten free options!

Once you've decided on what you want to order, you head up to their counter to place your order.

Once you place your order, they will give you a number to bring back to your table. When the food is ready, they will bring it over to you. And same goes with the bar.

The wait for the food wasn't too long, from what I remember.

We got a large serving of duck fat fries, as well as a small serving of the dirty duck fat fries which were topped with peppers, jalapenos, onions and their WVRST sauce.

We also got an order of their regular duck fat fries with two dipping sauces, maple rosemary and chipotle.

The four sausages we decided to try:

Kangaroo sausage made with fine herbs on a toasted fresh buttery bun with sweet sauteed onions and sweet peppers, with a bit of mustard.
Oktoberfest, which was a combination of pork and veal made with beer.
Bratwvrst, which was a combination of veal and pork made with wine.
Original Vegan sausage made with tofu, chickpeas, corn, and cilantro.

I can now check kangaroo off my list of animals to eat (lol I don't have an official list and I don't think it'd be very long...in case you're worried).

I tried a bite of D's Bratwvrst and it was delicious and very juicy. I could tell that my kangaroo was a leaner meat, but it was still tasty. Everyone finished theirs as much as they could, but the fries were just too good and filled us up quite fast.
