» Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. @ Santa Monica Pier

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
Soooo... Can I eat the chocolates now or?
- - -
Located right at the entrance of Santa Monica Pier... was Bubba Gump.
I've always wanted to try this place out as it is all over the states.
Trying to get a nice view of the sun as it started to set, we chose a perfect seat inside with a view out towards the harbour.
But first... Drinks.
We ordered the Blueberry Speckled Lemonade & the Coronarita!
Both absolutely delicious drinks.

Veggie Mushroom Burger | mushroom burger, pepper jack cheese, red onions, avocado (best ingredient), spring mix, and remoulade sauce
Shrimp Shack Mac & Cheese | Noodles, shrimp, cheddar, monterey jack, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs
"...Of Course We Have Scampi!" | shrimp, capers, lemon-garlic butter, linguine
Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi | Charbroiled Cajun spiced Mahi Mahi, Bourbon sauce, grilled shrimp, over mashed potatoes
Just another look at my burger.. Absolutely delicious. I'm not vegetarian but I do have a soft spot for mushrooms and avocados.

After eating, we waited for the sun to set.
Watching the sky burst into so many beautiful colors and then slowly fading away is one of the my favorite things to do, and there's no place else to do it than on the West Coast, on a beach, in the beautiful LA weather.

If you've never been to the West Coast or have never actually seen a West Coast sunset with your own eyes... You need to go ASAP.
But I guess my photos will do for now..
Here's a little sneak peak :)

» Walking on Sunshine & Fame, looking for Red Soles

Hollywood Boulevard x Vine Street: the famous Walk of Fame
I didn't have time to walk the entire thing but I had to take a photo with all the stars that I love.
James Franco.
Winnie the Pooh.
No explanations needed why these two are my faves!
And Vin Diesel. Only because he's the only celebrity I saw when in LA.
Walking past a coffee shop, it was hard not to give in.
So I decided to save myself time and energy and give this coffee shop a try.
I got their Mocha blended ice coffee, and it was a little too milky for my liking.
Other than that, it was a really good refresher/break from the hot hot sunshine!

After walking around for a bit, we headed to CL for some shopping/browsing.

What I was looking for:
Daffodile 160mm leather black
Palais Royal 140mm black
But... Surprise surprise. They didn't have my size. I thought that actual stores, especially since I was in LA (as opposed to a department store) would have all the sizes but guess not :(
So we walked away empty handed.
Just going to the store was an experience though.
It definitely wasn't what I expected, and I can't really say I liked the interior designing either. (I wish I took photos of the inside)!

After walking around all day, we decided to head to Olive Garden for dinner.
We all got the all-you-can-eat pasta menu, naturally.
Free wine :)
Salad
"Chinese dumpling" cream soup - my faveee
Baked bacon&cheese stuffed mushrooms - these were really delicious. So glad we got them as appetizers!
My fave: Fettucini Alfredo
Cutest walkway!

» Welcome to Hollywood!

SF --> LA #roadtrip
- - -
Sorry for the blurry photo.. Hard to capture with my phone + night time + glaring lights + moving at 150km/hour to get the photo of the sign hahah
The trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles was definitely a long one (about 6 hours) but I didn't have to drive! So no complains here :)
If you ever think about visiting these two cities at one time, I highhhhly recommend doing a road trip instead of taking a plane! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, especially if you drive along the coastline.
BUT, if you drive along the coastline.. Make sure you aren't afraid of heights as you are literally going to be driving along the edge of the cliffs and it's quiiiiite the high fall.

First stop in LA: Griffith Observatory, to see this:
Nothing says "Welcome to Hollywood!" than the sign itself!
"Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul." - Marilyn Monroe
I usually hate close-ups but this was necessary, as the sign was itzy bitzy from here!
That LA skyline thoughhhhh..
Can't wait to get down to the city!

» Napa Valley Vineyard Hopping

Who's down for some wine tasting??
- - -
Driving along a dirt road in Napa Valley,
with wineries and vineyards one after another... is exaaaactly how it's done.
It's also a great way to find hidden gems!

1st Stop: V. Sattui
This was literally just along the way to our destination.
We decided to just stop randomly, and look how gorgeous it is!
After frolicking around for a bit, we decided to go inside.
Amaaaazing cheese selection!
(Not photographed: the deli section)
My dad and I tasting some wine :)

Best way to drink wine is to go from light to dark wines, then end it off with a dessert wine.

Here is a list of the wine that I tasted:
Whites
• Chardonnay, Sattui - honeydew & almond aromas
• Sauvignon Blanc, Sattui - clear and dry grapefruit taste
• Dry Riesling, Napa Valley (92 points)
Reds
• Syrah, Napa Valley - hints of violet, citrus, and white pepper
• Cabernet Sauvignon, Preston Vineyard, Rutherford (95 points)
• Cabernet Sauvignon, Morisoli Vineyard (94 points)
Dessert
• Muscat - light, fresh and fruity with sweet melon muskiness (93 points)
• Moscato Frizzante - delicate and lightly sparkling wine

I had such a fun time tasting the wine!

After drinking, we got quite hungry so we decided to do it French style!
We bought a baguette, brie cheese, and prosciutto, and just ate outside picnic style :)
- - -
Stop 2: Castello di Amorosa
- - -
Last stop: Sterling Vineyards
T'was a successful day to say the least :)
